Sen. Bush and Rep. Yingling speak with seniorsGRAYSLAKE, Ill. – State Sen. Melinda Bush (D-Grayslake) and state Rep. Sam Yingling (D-Grayslake) recently visited with residents of Library Lane Senior Residence to discuss issues that are important to the aging community and answer their questions about the state’s current budget impasse.

“Our senior community deserves a voice in this budget impasse,” Bush said. “Too often seniors are in danger of being left on the fringes of these conversations, and today they had an opportunity to talk about the challenges they face and the way their lives have been impacted by this crisis. I will carry those concerns to our negotiations in Springfield.”

“I am deeply concerned about the serious issues that affect our seniors, and it is important that we all work together to ensure our state’s most vulnerable are heard from and taken care of,” Yingling said of the joint visit with Bush. “There are numerous challenges facing senior citizens and their caregivers, and I am committed to working with all members of the General Assembly to craft a responsible budget that protects all Illinoisans.”
