HELP BY DONATING TO NONPROFITS

  • The State of Illinois is partnering with the United Way of Illinois and the Alliance of Illinois Community Foundations to establish the Illinois COVID-19 Response Fund which will support local orgs that help people who need help the most. 
  • The fund will help provide primary healthcare services, food, supplies, interim housing and shelter, utility and financial assistance, support for children and other vulnerable populations and non-profit safety and operational assistance.

TAX FILING DEADLINE DELAYED TO JULY 15TH

  • The State of Illinois is aligning its tax filing & payment deadline with the federal government’s recent extension. Illinois residents will now have until July 15th to both file their income taxes and pay any additional liability (except FY 2020 estimated tax payments).

4 NEW LOAN PROGRAMS FOR SMALL BUSINESSES

  • The State of Illinois is announcing three new small business emergency loan programs, specifically targeting the hospitality industry statewide and small businesses outside of Chicago. 
  • Hospitality Emergency Grant Program - Apply now | Deadline April 1st @ 5:00 pm
  • llinois Small Business Emergency Loan Fund - Apply beginning April 1st
  • Downstate Small Business Stabilization Program - Apply beginning March 27th

  • Treasurer Frerichs and the State of Illinois are making $250 million available to banks and credit unions in Illinois with an almost 0% interest rate to deliver bridge loans. Small businesses and nonprofits should contact their banks or credit union to ask if they are participating in the Treasurer’s program. 

MORTGAGE ASSISTANCE

  • All federal mortgage companies will offer multi-month forbearance to reduce the strains and offer millions of Americans relief. Contact your mortgage servicer or Fannie May directly.

IND. FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE DURING COVID-19

  • Unemployment Insurance is being expanded to cover those without access to paid sick leave or who aren’t able to work due to COVID-19. Please visit https://www2.illinois.gov/ides for more information
  • If you have experienced technical difficulties while using the website or the phone system, please try again. The State of Illinois has worked around the clock to add capacity to their servers and phone systems.
  • Residential evictions have been suspended in Lake County, and there is a statewide moratorium on utility shut-offs for nonpayment. 
  • If you cannot pay your mortgage due to Coronavirus-related job loss, first talk directly with your lender about your options. If you need extra assistance with mortgage & housing-related issues, visit http://housingactionil.org/help for additional resources
  • The State of Illinois is supporting efforts by the federal government to expand eligibility for unemployment insurance. Unfortunately this won’t occur without an act of Congress, which is currently being debated and voted on
