Citizen ActionCHICAGO - State Senator Melinda Bush (D Grayslake) earned an "Excellent" cumulative rating on Citizen Action/Illinois' Legislative Scorecard for her combined 2013-2014 record in the Illinois General Assembly. The ratings are based on the key votes for public interest issues in the 98th General Assembly.

"It's an honor to be recognized by an organization that makes fighting for our citizens' its number one priority," Bush said.

"Senator Bush is a prime example of the type of legislator voters should ask for in Springfield," said William McNary, co-director, Citizen Action/Illinois. "The senator's voting record for the 98th General Assembly is without a doubt, a testament to commitment for working families, civil rights and consumer advocacy."

Citizen Action/Illinois is the state's largest public interest organization. The group advocates for social and economic justice at the state and national levels and has spearheaded reform work for lower utility rates, fair taxes, affordable and quality health care, insurance and campaign finance reform, and stronger environmental and food safety protections.
